General Areas of Responsibility

Your work will evolve around HSE at our sites, mainly in the field. This will include daily observations and safety audit walks, as well as daily meetings with crew and management and representing Bureau Veritas at safety and project-oriented meetings.

Safety is a Bureau Veritas absolute and is thus a big part of your work as well. You will therefore assist site management with HSE alerts, be involved in generating and retaining project safety documents, and develop site safety instructions and the site emergency response plan which includes coordinating with local EMS and aligning these with the EPC/BOP and/or the owner.

Besides this, you will develop and maintain SDS binders, conduct field audits on subcontractors, and review/coach JSA development.


  • Assist project management in specific procedural documentation to be provided to technicians for use in their daily job requirements.
  • Initiate all HSE alerts and drive incident investigation to closure through the identification of root cause(s) and contributing factor(s) as well as assist in making amendments to work instructions to prevent future incidents from occurring.
  • Ensure the development and conveyance of the site induction program
  • Provide a proactive approach to identifying potential safety risks and assist in the development of strategies for resolution.
  • Possess an understanding and knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local regulations, and region-specific HSE manuals including, but not limited to, site safety rules, code of safe practices, emergency response plans, and environmental policies.
  • Reporting of incidents and pertinent information to regional QSE.
  • Ownership for and functionality of site Emergency Response Plan.
  • 90% time in the field, 10% time in the office.
  • Climb turbines at least twice weekly (minimum) to perform observations.
  • Oversee safety at railheads or other remote project sites.
  • Support the project team through site set-up, installation, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and any service and/or repair of the turbines.
  • Assist with any other procedures to always maintain a safe work environment.

Qualifications:

We are looking for external consultants who hold a bachelor’s degree or advanced technical diploma in Health & Safety Engineering related fields, with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in wind, energy, industrial or civil construction, and who are fluent in Danish and English.

Besides this, we are also searching for the following HSE and inspection knowledge:


  • In-depth knowledge of HSE standards and regulations for Denmark and Sweden.
  • Proficiency in contractor/subcontractor HSE management, including mobilization/demobilization, pre-qualification requirements, and post-work assessment.
  • Proven expertise in job site hazard assessment/analysis/solution, risk management, incident investigation, and root cause analysis.
  • Development/implementation of processes and procedures, including comprehensive HSE plans.
  • Experience in conducting inspections and audits.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
